After a short lunch in the FBO lobby, I was keen to continue north to beat the weather that was now nearing Chattanooga. Fortunately we were out in time, and faced no real weather threats after the first 15 minutes of flying.
It was a fairly short just over 1 hour hop up to Bardstown. The airport and FBO were fairly quiet on landing, where we were met by Katherine's mom and her husband Joe.
It was odd that, although we had been to Bardstown before on our first big adventure, none of it was familiar. The FBO has evidently been completely replaced and seems to be run by the city rather than a private operation now. We drove to the hotel, checked in, had a quick dinner, and then walked over (just across the street) to visit with Katherine's grandma, so she could meet her great-granddaughter Violet.
Because it was already early evening, we weren't able to stay long so we walked back to our hotel and turned in early. The following morning I had arranged for us to have a tour of Lux Row distillery, which we all enjoyed and surprisingly Violet snoozed the entire time and didn't make a peep.
That afternoon we went back to see Katherine's grandmother, and Magic joined us too. Katherine's aunt and uncle came down to Louisville with some of her cousins, so everyone enjoyed a fun little family reuinion and everyone played with Violet some.
On our last day, we drove an hour or so to visit Old Fort Harrod, which is run as a sort of living history museum, had lunch, and then visited Shaker Town, which was pretty interesting.
