The day before departure I had spent some time figuring out a better way of 'rigging' the carseat in the airplane that would allow Katherine to take Violet out during flight if necessary. I had the airplane fully fueled and packed and ready. I decided that we would begin our day as early as we could manage to get ahead of what I was sure would be vigorous afternoon thunderstorms. Our original destination was Athens, GA (KAHN). This being our first long (>1 hour) flight with Violet, I wanted to limit it to around 2 hours since we were unsure how a longer leg would go. As usual, she fussed quite a bit while we were loading up, but as soon as the engine started she was quiet and decided to sleep.

Our departure from Orlando was fairly routine and we got turned north quickly.

After about an hour Violet woke up and wanted attention, but fortunately Katherine was able to get her out of her seat and even breastfeed her successfully. This removed quite a bit of the urgency of making an early stop.

Looking at the weather developing rapidly west of Atlanta and drifting east, I decided it was best to get north of Atlanta before we stopped.

Katherine agreed Violet was fine to continue a bit further, so we decided to press on to get on the correct side of the weather and land in Chattanooga.

I grabbed a crew car to pick up some Taco Bell while Katherine fed Violet at the FBO.
