We were quite exhausted after a late night watching the fireworks so we slept in a bit. Originally I had considered we might fly all the way home, but after our late start, I expected the afternoon thunderstorms would prevent getting all the way home. We took our time and then got an Uber back to IAD.
I had decided that our next stop would be Greenvile, SC, which was a fairly modest 2 and 1/2 hour flight and roughly halfway home. Importantly, it also promised good weather the following day, when there would be a tropical system hugging the coast. We loaded up and I filed IFR and we departed for a no hassle flight down to Greenville.
IAD was once again not terribly busy and the radio was quieter than expected. We were quickly out of the SFRA and on the way south.
We made an easy landing in Greenvile.
We caught our Uber to a hotel in downtown Greenville. Greenville turned out to be really nice, with a cool tree-shaded main steret and a very cool Falls Park.
We all had lunch, and visited the Falls Park.
In the early evening, we visited a cool local brewery before turning in early for the night.
